Oasis - Acquiesce

THE JESUS AND MARY CHAIN - In a Hole (OGWT)

How you look around is what lies within you.

Sometimes you just have to take a day to shut the world out so you can open up to yourself and deal with the chaos inside of you. And you don’t need to feel guilty or apologize or try to justify needing space. You just do what you need to do to take care of yourself, and that’s it. No explanation needed.

The criminal is the creative artist; the detective only the critic. — G.K. Chesterton

You cannot love a thing without wanting to fight for it. — G.K. Chesterton

The difference between the poet and the mathematician is that the poet tries to get his head into the heavens while the mathematician tries to get the heavens into his head. — G.K. Chesterton

There is a road from the eye to the heart that does not go through the intellect. — G.K. Chesterton

Romance is the deepest thing in life. It is deeper than reality. — G.K. Chesterton

The language of physics is mathematics, and it cannot be done honestly without mathematics. That makes it inaccessible. The language of literature is English or Chinese or whatever, and that makes it accessible. And literature is about the human condition. Physics is about the nonhuman condition. It’s not a taste that all human beings have. People are also social creatures, and literature fits in with that. Physics is perceived as a lonesome, nerdy kind of enterprise that has very little to do with human feelings and the things that excite people day-to-day about each other. Yet physicists in their own working environment are very social creatures. — Leonard Susskind

Dreaming permits each and every one of us to be quietly and safely insane every night of our lives. — William Dement

"There is no beginning, there is no end, There is only change. There is no teacher, there is no student, There is only remembering. There is no good, there is no evil, There is only expression. There is no union, there is no sharing, There is only one. There is no joy, there is no sadness, There is only love. There is no greater, there is no lesser, There is only balance. There is no stasis, there is no entropy, There is only motion. There is no wakefulness, there is no sleep, There is only being. There is no limit, there is no chance, There is only a plan. — From Ultimate Journey by Robert A. Monroe

I love that bittersweet feeling you get right before you say goodbye to something. It’s bitter because you don’t want to leave and you don’t want it to end. But it’s sweet because you had something in your life that you loved so much. Whether it’s a book, movie, television series, a class, a club, or a person. It hurts to say goodbye, but it’s nice to have something to say goodbye to.

"The aching need created by lack of love can only be filled by learning anew to love and be loved. We all must discover for ourselves that love is as force a real as gravity, and that being upheld in love every day, every hour, every minute is not a fantasy–it is intended as our natural state. — Deepok Chopra

What keeps life fascinating is the constant creativity of the soul.

We have to learn to go beyond both a positive mind and a negative mind to become a silent, nonjudgmental, non-analytical, non-interpretive mind. In other words, the silent witness. In the process of silent witnessing, we experience inner silence. In the purity of silence, we feel connected to our source and to everything else. — Deepak Chopra

You will be transformed by what you read.

Our experience in the physical world is an impermanent blip in eternity. It’s like a blink in the eye of eternity. It’s a pattern of behavior of the awareness. Therefore we don’t have a permanent identity. You don’t have the same identity you had as a baby, or as a child, or as a teenager, adolescent. Now, tomorrow is a different identity. So which one is real? Well, none of them. The only identity that’s real is the awareness that gives rise to the multiple identities. So we are like great Shakespearean actors. It’s our destiny to play an infinity of roles. But we are not the roles we play. We are the awareness in which the roles come and go. — Deepak Chopra

There is no holy life. There is no war between good and evil. There is no sin and no redemption. None of these things matter to the real you. But they all matter hugely to the false you, the one who believes in the separate self. You have tried to take your separate self, with all its loneliness and anxiety and pride, to the door of enlightenment. But it will never go through, because it is a ghost. — Deepak Chopra

Whatever relationships you have attracted in your life at this moment, are precisely the ones you need in your life at this moment. There is a hidden meaning behind all events, and this hidden meaning is serving your own evolution….

If you want to reach a state of bliss, then go beyond your ego and the internal dialogue. Make a decision to relinquish the need to control, the need to be approved, and the need to judge. Those are the three things the ego is doing all the time. It’s very important to be aware of them every time they come up.

Trust that your soul has a plan, and even if you can’t see it completely, know that everything will unfold as it is meant to.

“To make the right choices in life, you have to get in touch with your soul. To do this, you need to experience solitude, which most people are afraid of, because in the silence you hear the truth and know the solutions.” — Deepak Chopra

“If you obsess over whether you are making the right decision, you are basically assuming that the universe will reward you for one thing and punish you for another. The universe has no fixed agenda. Once you make any decision, it works around that decision. There is no right or wrong, only a series of possibilities that shift with each thought, feeling, and action that you experience. If this sounds too mystical, refer again to the body. Every significant vital sign- body temperature, heart rate, oxygen consumption, hormone level, brain activity, and so on- alters the moment you decide to do anything… decisions are signals telling your body, mind, and environment to move in a certain direction” — Deepak Chopra

“Be happy for no reason, like a child. If you are happy for a reason, you’re in trouble, because that reason can be taken from you.” — Deepak Chopra

"Not every sky will be blue and not every day is springtime. So on the spiritual path a person learns to find this kind of happiness without needing nice things to happen on the outside. Rather, you find happiness by being who you really are. This isn’t mystical. Young children are happy being who they are. The trick is to regain such a state when you are grown and have seen the light and dark sides of life.”

“There is no substitute for the creative inspiration, knowledge, and stability that come from knowing how to contact your core of inner silence.” — Deepak Chopra

“Every thought we have is actually part of a collective database. Even the most original thoughts are actually quantum leaps of creativity that occur from the same recycled bed of information. Intention, imagination, insight, inspiration, meaning, purpose, creativity, and understanding have nothing to do with the brain. They orchestrate their activity through the brain, but they are qualities of the non-local domain, which is beyond space and time.” — Deepak Chopra

The more he shut himself away, the more he tried to get away from the press, the more desirable and the rarer he became as this prey for the paparazzi to hunt. It wasn’t his natural inclination to be so private. I think he was actually someone who liked to be out in the world, who liked to be free, who loved to explore, but he didn’t like to be under the microscope. He was a private individual. He didn’t want to share his life. That quote he says, “I don’t want to lay myself at the feet of the American public and let them enter my soul. My soul is a private place.” That was deeply true to him. He didn’t want to just be on public display the whole time, but he was the prized scalp. He was the one the paparazzi wanted more and more and more. The more they chased him, the more he hid away and the more they wanted him.

“The most creative act you will ever undertake is the act of creating yourself.”

Papercuts - Still Knocking At The Door (OFFICIAL AUDIO)

"You must give birth to your images. They are the future waiting to be born. Fear not the strangeness you feel. The future must enter you long before it happens. Just wait for the birth, for the the hour of the new clarity." — Rainer Maria Rilke

"I experience a period of frightening clarity in those moments when nature is so beautiful. I am no longer sure of myself, and the paintings appear as in a dream." — Vincent van Gogh

"Clarity of mind means clarity of passion, too; this is why a great and clear mind loves ardently and sees distinctly what it loves." — Blaise Pascal

"I'm living at a peak of clarity and beauty I never knew existed. Every part of me is attuned to the work. I soak it up into my pores during the day, and at night—in the moments before I pass off into sleep—ideas explode into my head like fireworks. There is no greater joy than the burst of solution to a problem. Incredible that anything could happen to take away this bubbling energy, the zest that fills everything I do. It's as if all the knowledge I've soaked in during the past months has coalesced and lifted me to a peak of light and understanding. This is beauty, love, and truth all rolled into one. This is joy." — Daniel Keyes

We leave something of ourselves behind when we leave a place, we stay there, even though we go away. And there are things in us that we can find again only by going back there.

"You must read, you must persevere, you must sit up nights, you must inquire, and exert the utmost power of your mind. If one way does not lead to the desired meaning, take another; if obstacles arise, then still another; until, if your strength holds out, you will find that clear which at first looked dark." — Giovanni Boccaccio

"The more you know yourself, the more clarity there is. Self-knowledge has no end - you don't come to an achievement, you don't come to a conclusion. It is an endless river." — Jiddu Krishnamurti
