“I think that is what film and art and music do; they can work as a map of sorts for your feelings.” ― Bruce Springsteen

Hold me fast, 'cause I'm a hopeless wanderer.

“When two people meet, each one is changed by the other so you've got two new people.” ― John Steinbeck

“I believe a strong woman may be stronger than a man, particularly if she happens to have love in her heart. I guess a loving woman is indestructible.” ― John Steinbeck

“Getting old is like climbing a mountain; you get a little out of breath, but the view is much better!” ― Ingrid Bergman

“You must train your intuition - you must trust the small voice inside you which tells you exactly what to say, what to decide.” ― Ingrid Bergman

“A man who procrastinates in his choosing will inevitably have his choice made for him by circumstance.” ― Hunter S. Thompson

The only way out is in.

For those who confuse you, recognize that their confusion is theirs and your clarity is yours.

You must read, you must persevere, you must sit up nights, you must inquire, and exert the utmost power of your mind. If one way does not lead to the desired meaning, take another; if obstacles arise, then still another; until, if your strength holds out, you will find that clear which at first looked dark.” ― Giovanni Boccaccio

“Appearance blinds, whereas words reveal.” ― Oscar Wilde

“There are all kinds of love in this world but never the same love twice.” ― F. Scott Fitzgerald

“You don't write because you want to say something, you write because you have something to say.” ― F. Scott Fitzgerald

“When you surrender, the problem ceases to exist. Try to solve it, or conquer it, and you only set up more resistance. . . . The most difficult thing to admit, and to realize with one's whole being, is that you alone control nothing. . . .” ― Henry Miller

Air- Missing the Light of the Day

“I never felt oppressed because of my gender. When I’m writing a poem or drawing, I’m not a female; I’m an artist.” — Patti Smith

“I am a cemetery by the moon unblessed.” ― Charles Baudelaire

“Confession is not betrayal. What you say or do doesn't matter; only feelings matter. If they could make me stop loving you-that would be the real betrayal.” ― George Orwell

“It is more than probable that I am not understood; but I fear, indeed, that it is in no manner possible to convey to the mind of the merely general reader, an adequate idea of that nervous intensity of interest with which, in my case, the powers of meditation (not to speak technically) busied and buried themselves, in the contemplation of even the most ordinary objects of the universe.” ― Edgar Allan Poe

“Don’t seek, don’t search, don’t ask, don’t knock, don’t demand—relax. If you relax, it comes. If you relax, it is there. If you relax, you start vibrating with it.” — Osho

“Vision is the art of seeing things invisible.” ― Jonathan Swift

It’s the unknown that draws people.

What you seek is seeking you.

“There is no exquisite beauty… without some strangeness in the proportion.” ― Edgar Allan Poe

“This is the real secret of life -- to be completely engaged with what you are doing in the here and now. And instead of calling it work, realize it is play.” ― Alan Wilson Watts

“To have faith is to trust yourself to the water. When you swim you don't grab hold of the water, because if you do you will sink and drown. Instead you relax, and float.” ― Alan Wilson Watts

Alan Watts - Give it away and it will come back

The Stills - Love And Death

... yes I speak a different language - the dark fire of poetry - it flutters and gutters in tune with the mood.

“Let no place in me hold itself closed, for where I am closed, I am false.”

“Lovers… I know why you touch each other so ecstatically: that touch lasts. That place you cover with such tenderness doesn’t vanish, because you feel a pure duration there. In your embrace you almost find the promise of eternity.” — Rainer Maria Rilke

“Everywhere transience is plunging into the depths of Being… It is our task to imprint this temporary, perishable earth into ourselves so deeply, so painfully and passionately, that its essence can rise again, ‘invisibly,’ inside us. We are the bees of the invisible. We wildly collect the honey of the visible, to store it in the great golden hive of the invisible.” — Rainer Maria Rilke

“You know that the flower bends when the wind wants it to, and you must become like that — that is, filled with deep trust.” — -Rainer Maria Rilke

“I am learning to see. I don’t know why it is, but everything enters me more deeply and doesn’t stop where it once used to. I have an interior that I never knew of. Everything passes into it now. I don’t know what happens there.” — Rilke

“In the deepest hour of the night, confess to yourself that you would die if you were forbidden to write. And look deep into your heart where it spreads its roots, the answer, and ask yourself, must I write?” — Rainer Maria Rilke

“I am always equal to accidents; I have to be unprepared to be master of myself.” — Friedrich Nietzsche

“Dreaming. — Either one does not dream, or does so interestingly. One should learn to spend one’s waking life in the same way: not at all, or interestingly.” — Friedrich Nietzsche

“You know these things as thoughts, but your thoughts are not your experiences, they are an echo and after-effect of your experiences: as when your room trembles when a carriage goes past. I however am sitting in the carriage, and often I am the carriage itself. In a man who thinks like this, the dichotomy between thinking and feeling, intellect and passion, has really disappeared. He feels his thoughts. He can fall in love with an idea. An idea can make him ill.” — Friedrich Nietzsche

“No artist tolerates reality.” — Friedrich Nietzsche

“The true man wants two things: danger and play. For that reason he wants women, as the most dangerous plaything.” — F. Nietzsche

Ultimate Uncertainty

i let the delicate animal of my soul hold you
so you can never become an ephemeral thought
my days belong to you
 my nights write to you
you feel like a phantom limb beside me as i sleep
my dreams have become one color
i am lacking someone else
you run through every hallway
even at a distance
this energy moves
it tells me which way to flow
flow was and is everything
my memories of you have become a private arsenal
so when doubt comes in through the back door
i can think of you and feel like a true cowboy
i look for you as you as i move through these fields
but nothing shakes
no trembling evidence
i never hear your name in ordinary places
when i shut my eyes
my own private movie begins
and my anticipation sits in the front row
i did not enter this space for anything
it captured me
and somehow this abstract dream
will become concrete
revealing a desire that magnifies my heart
this sounds so arcane
this feels so abstruse
never dross
i am fascinated by this
i am eager to go mad
clinging to my darkness
i will hang your light amongst the stars tonight

-B.D.W

“What I am really saying is that you don’t need to do anything, because if you see yourself in the correct way, you are all as much extraordinary phenomenon of nature as trees, clouds, the patterns in running water, the flickering of fire, the arrangement of the stars, and the form of a galaxy. You are all just like that, and there is nothing wrong with you at all.” ― Alan Watts

“Never pretend to a love which you do not actually feel, for love is not ours to command.” ― Alan Watts

The perfect man? A poet on a motorcycle. ~Lucinda Williams

“Let everything happen to you Beauty and terror Just keep going No feeling is final” ― Rainer Maria Rilke

“Patience is power. Patience is not an absence of action; rather it is "timing" it waits on the right time to act, for the right principles and in the right way.” ― Fulton J. Sheen

Life begins at night.

“And now you'll be telling stories of my coming back and they won't be false, and they won't be true but they'll be real” ― Mary Oliver

“It is good to love many things, for therein lies the true strength, and whosoever loves much performs much, and can accomplish much, and what is done in love is well done.” ― Vincent van Gogh
